Carlisle Township officials were among the thousands of trustees, fiscal officers, administrative assistants and zoning inspectors who attended the annual assembly at the Columbus Convention
Center. This year marked the Winter Conference’s 25th year and celebrated the 95th year of the Ohio Township Association. Ninety-five years of townships in Ohio coming together to ensure that the township form of government is protected and continues to thrive. The conference included educational sessions on diverse topics such as Zoning Law Updates, Alternative Paving Techniques, Creating a Cybersecurity Response Plan, The Vital Need for Land Use Planning in Uncertain Times and the Governor’s Task Force on the Volunteer Fire Service –Update. At the General Session, keynote speaker and former spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice and faculty member of the School of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Mark Weaver addressed the gathering on “Crisis Communications”. This year’s Trade Show featured one hundred forty-three exhibitors including vendors from Equipment Suppliers to IT Software/Technology firms. Township officials consider this annual conference a valuable information source and to bring back and implement the findings to Carlisle Township making it a better place to live.
